Device arrived with tines misaligned and stuck inside. All were bent/damaged when trying to remove it to fix. Not usable. So I'm super frustrated. Totally unacceptable and instead of feeling like a nice slick item, felt like cheap junk and that I got ripped off.

I'm sorry you received a unit with bent needles. We know this can sometimes happen in transit, so we provide extra spares now. The challenge is the magnetic traveler inside cannot be physically held back during transit, even though we put an extra magnet behind it to hold it in place; a significant drop (from over 1.5m high and landing vertically) in transit could still decouple the magnets and try to send the needles out which may buckle them.
Everyone has been asking us to ship these with thinner 0.35mm needles, which we are doing now, but this makes the situation all the more challenging as those needles are very sensitive. This is why we now provide additional spares.
To mitigate this issue in the future, we will ship with thicker needles pre-installed and thin needles as replacements.
I understand that receiving it with buckled needles is not a great experience, but please simply replace them with the extra spares we provided and you'll be good to go.

Even thought it’s not metal or stainless steel it has a very nice feel and works great. The stand is nice as well is the magnet holder attaches great to my espresso machine.

We use the Flick all day, every day. I appreciate how quick and easy it is in our coffee shop Catzen Coffee Bar & Den. The fact that the needles stow away keeps them from getting bent. It takes minimal space on our counter, which is another plus.
